I Couldn’t Ash For More!

Hey everybody,

I hope you’re all having a Merry Christmas and I hope Santa was good to you. I did great this year. The big guy must had gotten my letter because I was blessed with a whole bunch of new writing stuff. Some gifts were anticipated, but I did receive a couple surprises. One awesome thing in particular that my fiance definitely surprised me with is also something that I’ve been completely addicted to it since I opened it.

This is not a plug, I’m just nerding out a bit. The gift you see above is a Neo2 distraction-free writer. They are not made anymore, but if you can get your hands on one, it’s basically an old-style keyboard with a small screen that will allow up to six lines of text. You can store script files locally on the unit and when you’re ready, you can use a connector cable to upload your files to any open word processor on your laptop or computer. I went through the whole process for this entry and I have to say, it’s my new favourite thing to use for writing. If you want to know more about it, just click this link to a random YouTube video to give you a better idea. It’s not for everybody, but I love it’s old school feel and it’s definitely a sweet alternative to the norm. And, it truly is as advertised as I wrote this entire entry in one sitting without getting distracted. I didn’t fall into any YouTube wormholes, I never had the urge to check my email or social media. Nope, my only distraction was Poppy chewing on my toes which is her way of telling me she’s wants to go outside for a walk. Be right back.

OK, I’m back. It seems Poppy was content with only a quick dart around the neigbourhood. I feel she’s smelled enough dog urine to leave me alone long enough to finish this post. A post that I’ve been dying to get out of my system for days now. I’m sure you’ve all noticed how dormant my blog has been lately. Trust me, I’m doing everything in my power to correct that. My real life got super busy the last few months that shifted my focus away from writing which I’m never OK with. The only thing that kept me sane was knowing my holidays were coming. I must have said a million times that the most important gift for me this year or any year really, is time off. So, since I left work last Friday, I’ve taken full advantage of my time and concentrated on spending it with my love ones along with relaxing myself. But, that didn’t mean I haven’t stored a thought or two for a few posts to share with another form of family of mine and that’s all of you. I’m feeling pretty good about where my creative head is at and with some of these new writing tools that I have, I’m excited to get back to some more Earth to Ash.

Before I go though, I do want to take this opportunity as well to wish you a Happy Holidays. I can never say it enough, but thanks again for your support, I’m fortunate to have all of you as my followers. Gaining every day which is awesome. If it weren’t for you stopping by from time to time to see what this guy has to say, then I may as well keep a bedside journal. I am forever grateful and I sincerely mean that. So much so, I’ve chosen this grate winter shot I took on my walk today for such an occasion.

Now that that’s also out of my system, I leave you with this. Here’s to a wonderful rest of your Christmas holidays. As we get ready to welcome a whole new year into our lives, let’s take a second to project that positivity well into what is unbelievable to think, the year 2020.

Don’t live in hindsight, people!

Until…
