I Can Tell its Home!

black and white hand raining

grant me that yesterday tomorrow
I want to run again in November rain
taste once more, those raindrops
pinch me because I’m alive

let me feel it to the bone
that day…
I wore the fog home

seagulls bicker
over drenched catch laid in blood
but that day, no matter
t’was Mother Nature’s chore
all backdrops to my soul

my lungs, they catch up
though heartbeats have no pace
one listen to the ocean
one breath to the shore
I can tell it’s home
