Journal Entry # 148 – Never Change Who You Are For Anyone!

This is my serious face

The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can. – Neil Gaiman

Ashback # 8 – Wolverine Gull

Hey everybody,

I received a comment on my blog this morning that was left on yesterday’s entry. It not only blew me away, but it also hyper-spaced me down memory lane. It was from an old friend of mine from my childhood. Scratch that, an old best friend of mine, and boy did it instantly put a smile on my face. I literally laughed out loud when I saw the handle that this person had used to post the comment. As you WordPress users already know, comments on your blog are sometimes left there by fellow bloggers, but sometimes they are left from email followers. I pretty much know all my email followers personally as they are mostly friends, family, and the odd coworker past and present. This person though, I believe has been visiting my blog for some time now and has finally made me aware of it in a very subtle way. Well, at least I’m 99.9% sure it is. I mean, it has to be. There is only a few living souls that I know on the face of this earth that would know the legend of the “Wolverine Gull”. (Dramatic voice)

Can I Ash You A Favour?

This is me having that thought.

Hey all,

I hope everyone’s having a good week, we’ve made it to Hump Day at least. So, I was out running the other day and as you can see from above, it was a pretty nice day. Good thinking weather with the sun shining and downtown buzzing with activity. Along the way, I stopped for a look-around and just before I turned for home, a thought popped up in my head. Something I would love to have your help with. For the last few years, I have been entering my poems into a national poetry contest and I am on the verge of submitting again for 2019. Some of you know that I have my anxieties when it comes to hitting publish on my poetry work, but I’ve learned to post anyway. One of the main reasons for this is because of you fine people, my awesome followers. Your follows, likes, and wonderful comments over the years have given me so much confidence in my writing. In this case, my poetry. You’re a huge part in the evolution of my poem writing and in saying that, it brings me to my special favour.

The “Write” Inspiration

DSC_0231
I’ve done it again. I go around and brag about how great I’ve been doing lately with the momentum of my writing. And, all of a sudden…WALL!!! I must have spent two or three hours last night staring at a blank page. It’s crazy because Friday nights are usually one of my more creative nights. Well, not the case. Nope, last night I kept popping open my laptop, writing a few sentences and quickly finding myself backspacing until a little demon cursor danced once more in constant mockery. Nothing was firing, everything I wrote seemed way too forced. After several failed attempts, I finally gave in and went into some Youtube wormhole.
