My Redemption

how-to-find-yourself.jpeg My memory is all I have to adore you.

A broken heart still bleeding for attention.

Before the picture fades,

I pray for a lost connection.

My fault bears a cross,

though, it was never my intention.

Forgive this, my wordy plea,

and grant me redemption.

My Misery

images (4).jpgWhy can’t I smile and mean it anymore?
Is it because of my friend, dear Misery?
But, I’ve known her now, more than anyone of flesh.
She whispers constantly in my ear.
Of a promise…that if I go with her.
She’ll take my spirit and scatter it amongst the stars,
so I may no longer be alone, in this world of the forgotten.

The Brothers

akai_8trackiavscanda.com_
Eight tracks and underage,
hard rock for the teenage,
one summer eve, surrounded by kings.
They rolled their tokes,
shared loose smokes,
and bragged, of sweetheart flings.
I watched all night,
as they pal and fight.
Curse, and say foolish things.
Like “Play it again.”
said my uncle to a friend,
as we sat, listening, to those guitar strings.

Fall Guy

Just because, I take a breath,
leaf-peeping through autumn hues.
Chilled zephyrs race tears down a single cheek,
that dewy brisk, restorative.
I wander along the many tints and tones,
embracing change that’s before me.
Just a little further…
and I’ll catch the harvest moon winking.

Journal Entry # 56 – Define Your Path!

We must take time to define our own path. Too quickly we can find the world defining it for us.

One Day in May!

One day in May,
will forever be.
When a gift was born,
and bestowed upon me.

One day in May,
as flowers grew.
Love, true love,
that first look at you.

One day in May,
20 years now past.
Apart we’ve become,
my love outcast.

One day it may,
find a way home.
Where I’ll be waiting,
no more alone.

Still Lost – ‘took this pic on my run’

DSC_0058.JPGServed purpose, now kicked away.
Maybe lost, surely forgotten.
I catch my breath in thought,
thinking about your story.
How long will you lay there?
Facing the sun,
full of hope that someone comes searching.
’til then…you’ll wait.
