Your smile that day was the last,
when those shades looked better on you.
This the chance?
Sun high, mid-afternoon,
like yesterday,
memorial to me.
Funny, we talked longer which was unlike us,
the hint?
A stride from you taken, farewell implied,
it felt no different,
only to you, it was.
My goodbye changed forever,
when those shades looked better on you.
I really love your poems; reading them is an amazing experience. They display very deep thoughts.
Good luck and keep writing 🙂

Ah, thanks, friend. It was a pair of shades that I had that he liked. So, that day I gave them to him before I left for university. A few days later, he took his own life. Glad you went for the read.

I was wondering what was the exact meaning of those glasses. It sounds like you added a bit of sunshine to the final days of darkness.

Deserves a second ponder doesn’t it? And you know what? That’s a great way of putting that. Appreciate the smile 😀
