Folks, I think I might need your help. Let me tell you why. During the last week or so. And, I blame Christmas as it’s only a few weeks from now. But, people have not stopped bringing up in festive conversations that I should publish a children’s book. One very special project of mine in particular with a theme of the before said Christmas.
Because of that constant chatter in my life as of late, I went and had some conversations. Just to see. Emailing, DM’ing, and spitballing with people from all disciplines and based on those probes, I think I might do it. The first goal I set is $600.00 Canadian. For one part of the puzzle and a good modest amount to gain traction on this project. I say that because I am staging this thing. Not too much too soon. Baby steps and the polished way. I owe that to myself and to anyone who supports me along the way and not in a monetary fashion. People have supported me from the beginning when it comes to my writing. The now money element is just cause well, everything is money nowadays. That said, the talent I have chatted with well deserve compensation for their hand in producing something beautiful such as a children’s book. Create something that brings smiles to kid’s faces at a time no other than Christmas.
Therefore, this post, a personal one at that, is a soft whispery ask for any monetary donation you can spare in aid of my new “Alright, I’ll do it.” venture. Let me tell you. To even begin to write a post in this context made me feel ugly and desperate. Shame fell over my whole body to the point of physical illness. Fire burns at me, ghouls taunt me in the shadows. Wait…wait. Ok, Ash, you’re getting slightly overdramatic.
No, really, I’m pursuing it nonetheless. Even if it takes longer. I thought maybe if I asked for a little help, people would see the vision and contribute to its creation. By the way, if and when this gains momentum, I will provide updates here on Earth to Ash. To share the journey of my first potential claim to fame. As I have always said, you are all my faithful followers. That in itself holds so much value to me. A quarter in my hat today would only cement that faith you have in me.
