Welcome back, join me and my continuing conversation about my thoughts, feelings, and emotions to the world around me.
In this episode, I have my feet back on the ground and am trying to share some thoughts, feelings, and emotions with the world. The dust has settled, the move is over, and it’s onward and upward through the fog as we say here in Newfoundland. And, as always, I throw in a poem for good measure.
Enjoy!!

Ash! You sounded great – accent and all! 😜 Great episode! Based on those pics and your descriptions, I think it’s fair to say it is Paradise (or at least a very close suburb…lol)…. Despite having beavers here, I never saw a beaver dam before, except maybe in a nature documentary…that’s really cool! Oh! And that selfie of yours! That’s exactly what I was talking about! It’s perfect in every way – the background (look at that river!), the foreground (sunglasses free), and all spectacular!😉 Hands down, without a doubt, that is one of the best pics (if not THE best) I’ve ever seen of you (and I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise) and definitely my new all-time favorite! I love it ☺️! Yes, I’ve seen some of those videos…and I have to admit that first hearing dialect like that years ago, I was like 😳…but since learning more and reading more and watching more about NL, I can see one of those videos now and understand – not perfectly – but better than at first. I can pick up on some of the phrases and pronunciations better. And speaking of accents, say “particular”… 😄I love it! Each time you said it I had to smile! Ok, now say, “haiku”… Lol…I tease because I care…besides, I’m sure there are plenty of words I pronounce that you could jest me about – including your name…pronounced with the same short “a” sound as in stand – that’s the NJ in me! 😂 Oh, yeah! By the way, your poem had a couple typos… I did notice, but I got too excited in commenting, I forgot to mention it! Oops! Not being a very good editor, am I? 🫣 … I’ll be more on my toes next time! Lol…And, yes, I agree about seeing life and the world differently with age…and I can certainly understand how some alone time – like your walks – helps process the world and problems, both personal and universal…and now hearing how sacred these moments are for you makes it that much more special knowing you take us along now and then – and a great majority of the 60 episodes have been these “walk and talks”… And I’ve enjoyed them, every single one. You asked again if these episodes are beneficial – as I’ve said before, I may be a bit biased and maybe a bit selfish in some of my motives behind saying “yes,” and I’m not going to say anything here I’ve never said before, I truly do enjoy hearing about and learning about NL, and hearing your stories of growing up, and the backstories of your poems, but in all honesty, I often feel out of place in my little part of the world, and it seems to get worse as I get older – I feel less seen, less understood – and these episodes very much feel like getting together with a dear old friend and connecting over similar thoughts and ideas and reminiscing about the “good ol’ days” – because, actually, meeting up with an old friend is exactly what they are. All the “omg! me, too ” and “amen” moments when similar outlooks and opinions are shared, and I almost can’t believe there’s another person in this world I have so much in common with. Add in the encouraging and motivational aspects you toss in from time to time, that do inspire me… to do better, to be better – at work, in life, as a person, etc… I think I’ve said before that it’s not like we can just pick up the phone and chat whenever, but these episodes are like that to me…silly, I know (and maybe a bit pathetic 🫣)…But anyway – Yes! The Bike Writer – I know he will ride again, and I can’t wait!! It sounds so fun and exciting! Oh! And I remember you talked about reading other people’s poems on your podcast a while back… I still think it’s a great idea!! If I come up with one worth being recited to the world, I will definitely tag you in…lol… seriously, I’d love that, actually. I’ll dig one out in the coming days and send it your way and maybe you can include it whenever you get the chance in an upcoming episode! Will you post about it? It is a great way to promote Earth to Ash, as writers whose work you read will definitely listen and share their respective episodes! I’m telling you, you could be on to something with an audio lit mag!! 🙂 Well, glad to hear that, overall, all is good and that you’re getting back into your creative groove! Now I hope summer catches up to you soon! We’re in the thick of it now…just in time for our official start to summer this upcoming three-day weekend…but technically I’m off until next Tuesday – now, will I take advantage of the time off to properly prioritize my time and get done all the things I need to or will I just dawdle? I’m hoping to find a happy medium! 😂… 💕

Hey, so sorry for the late reply, been a busy few days at work. Apologies for that. Thanks as always for you responses, I look forward to your reactions, critique, similar takes, and editing lol. And, yes, I think the lit mag idea does sound like it could be something people could grab a hold of. It would give me more exposure and would allow me to connect with writers on a different level. I am definitely going to give that some more thought. Thanks again, and I hope all is well and congratulations on all your success as of late. Well deserved. Until…
